Getting the most from Reverb Nation
Reverb Nation is a great site, like a mini web site for free. I couldn’t have designed it better if I had the best available engineers. The dashboard is easy to navigate with modest technical knowledge, far easier than a cell phone. You can post a biography, up load songs and videos, images and links to your social sites. It connects to your bands Face Book page with the same audio player and You Tubes Videos on Reverb Nation. Before I go on I have to say the majority of bands don’t list their contact information which makes it extremely difficult to contact you for jobs. The next step up is a website which cost money. To avoid expensive promotional cost place links on Face Book and Reverb Nation to your site. I wrote this article in response when searching for bands to join the Sound Tracks Magazine galleries. In New Orleans oddly enough there were no listings for jazz bands. As you know this is an area famous for its jazz night clubs. One reason for this might be there’s enough work to keep the bands employed. In areas where bands outnumber the clubs and the competition is high, then you’ll find more acts promoting over social media like in Boston Massachusetts. It’s the economic Keynesian supply and demand theory. When the supply of bands is lower than the available clubs, the bands charge more. Where the bands outnumber the clubs the less they can charge. Still it makes good business sense to take advantage of all avenues, starting with Face Book and Reverb Nation.
