Stage Lighting for a Good Live Video
Good stage lighting for a professional video requires planning but is actually easy with a little common scene. To start with band tends to look over blown with too much contrast due to bright and constantly moving lighting. What I mean by bright and constantly moving is a lot of disco effects like a mirror ball and laser show if you can afford it. This distracts from the band. Stationary is better without being too bright. Without enough white lights to smooth the contrast your band members could come out with too much contrast. Too much white and the effects are lost. When they are too far apart the stage looks large and empty, too close and it looks cramped. Test the lighting, real time gives the best results to see how it will come out when the camera’s rolling. Once you’ve made all the adjustments leave it a loan. We tend to never be satisfied.  Here is a video explaining the different types of lights
