Biography: Christine McHoe
I'm an OLD SHOE on her 2nd trip around the music industry after an 18 year hiatus. I'm a singer, songwriter, producer, perfomer. Come see us LIVE at the Skwentna Roadhouse..in Alaska!! If you figure out how to get here and actually make it out, I'll buy your 100 dollar burger and sing you a few songs. My NEW Album **********TIME TO FLY********** is now released on ALL major music outlets. HEY MOM! I've a new song coming out very soon entitled, 'Hey Mom'. I wrote it very quickly. It's surprising how some songs come to you so easily, while others need that simmering time to absorb the flavor of the notes or lyrics.....or in my case, I call it mental writers block in need of time....It's actually kind of funny how this started. I was trying to figure out the chording to a song I loved from 30 years ago. While I was attempting it, something else took over my fingers and it became a shuffle and progressed from there! Lol! Many of you can relate! Anyhoo...this particular song became a tribute to my mother who was recently diagnosed with a memory issue. Some call it dementia, others call it Alzheimer's. I just call it one INSIDIOUS DISEASE that robs you of your precious memories. From the medical info that I've read, the latter diagnoses can only happen after death through a biopsy. Doctors now use a memory test for the diagnoses. Either way, our life will undergo some dramatic changes as this progresses. The hardest part of this is that I live in Alaska, and she's home on the farm in Minnesota. Thankfully, our family is close and we're working on the 'What's next?' part of the plan. We're getting our ducks in a row....so to speak. I want to remember my mother as the wonderful lady she is. God chose her for us, and it's obvious that this bond between us is strong and binding as you will hear in my lyrics. I asked my facebook friends to help me write the lyrics to this song. Even though I didn't actually use their words verbatim, I got some great ideas to finish it. Here they are: Hey Mom, the smile on your face, Can light up the sun. Hey Hey Mom, God made you for us, 'Cause you were the one, Who wiped our tears and made us smile When something did us wrong. You loved us through all our trials in life It only made us strong...yes it did. Hey Hey Mom, Why did we have to grow up When young was so fun. Hey Hey Mom, Look at all your grandkids, My, where's the time gone? If Dad were here you know he'd smile And tell us, "Carry On" This is life, and we're living it. Today will soon be gone....yes it will. Years pass by and kids grow up And we get older too Blessings never cease to end Because we all have you... We love you Yes, we do!! Hey Hey Mom I sure enjoyed our time In the desert fun Hey Hey Mom, thanks for joining me In the Midnight Sun In all the time I've spent with you, I'd only add one thing Will just make more picture memories And tape them on that string For all time.....For all time. Hope you'll enjoy the music....because, along with the shuffle, I went a bit country....See, Mom LOVES Country! :)
