Biography: Nicole Christian
Born in the nature isle of the Caribbean, Commonwealth of Dominica, Nicole Mariana Christian, daughter of Adolphus and Sonia Christian and being the last of six children, always had a passion for singing. At the tender age of four, she began singing in preschool choirs and later on joined the senior choir of the St Martin’s Primary School. Music was indeed a part of Nicole’s family life. Her mother Sonia Christian was a choir instructor at the St Martin’s Primary School, her brother Gregory Christian, entertained guests at family gatherings with his keyboard while her father played and sang along with his guitar. Faith and belief in God was also a part of this family’s life. At the Convent High School, Nicole occasionally performed at assemblies, and talent shows, and was also a part of the school choir. In 2004, she competed in the Star Quest competition initiated by Lime Dominica, formerly known as Cable and Wireless. She successfully sang her way into the finals. Since then, Nicole has been a guest minister for many gospel concerts held around the island alongside her brother, Gregory, playing the keyboards, writing and producing songs and most of all steering her on. She has had the opportunity to be accompanied by amazing local Christian singers and musicians. She has backed up regional gospel artists such as Marvia Providence, Jadee and Sean Daniel from Trinidad, St Mathew, Jai and Carlene Davis from Jamaica and Ordinary from Florida. Nicole is also one of the worship leaders at her church assembly, serves as a teacher in the Children’s Ministry, and is a part of the dance group. Nicole Mariana Christian has been through years of trials and success in her singing ministry. But she will not stop now. Her purpose – “Go into all the world and preach the gospel.” Mark 16:15.
