When we asked his wife and song writer Denise questions about Clark and here are some of the answers.
Question: What got Clark started in music? It all began when Clark was around 5 when his grandmother gave him a little plastic guitar for Christmas... Her husband was a musician & Clark's mother was a June Taylor Dancer and appeared in many plays on Broadway including Annie Get Your Gun with Ethel Merman; so theatrics were in the gene's from the beginning. Question: What and whom influenced him to continue in music? It wasn't until the high school years that his older brother's album collection gabbed hold of his attention. Influences like Jimmy Hendrix, Zepplin, Cream, Frank Zappa, Iron Butterfly & Black Sabbath beckoned him to save up for an electric guitar. It was at that time he locked himself in his room to play along with the greatest. It wasn't before long he had met up with Peter Bonfiglio; Richard Hackley and his brother Mike and Pete's cousin, Anthony Coppola  together the 5 formed their first band called, "Tyrant.".  Their first paying gig was for the Branford Intermediate school dance in 1978. That was it, Clark knew his life would always revolve around the power that drives him, music. Question: Did he pursue other areas in music? In addition to playing the guitar, Clark's desire to own a guitar with very specific modifications & design led him to begin building his own electric guitars, he is a luthier and has designed, modified & built many guitars to their players specifications. The Bender guitar, imagine it and Clark can create it. "Bender Guitars" can be commissioned and seen on Face Book under, "Bender Guitars". Question: Was he in many bands? The Bands through his life were, Charger, Solid State, the Tornado's among others. He also stood in for many local bands. That’s where we met and became inseparable. They took a trip to Memphis where their appearances coined them the name, "the BeNdErS". (See "the Benders" the ones with the quotation marks on Face Book & You Tube.)  6 years now he is lead guitarist as she lead singer with JD Hertzog on Saxophone, Dan Morgan-Lynch on Bass and Dave Barberi on Drums. Clark & Denise have written some originals, most audible, "Skeletons in our Closets". Their favorite is putting a Bender twist on the old Classic Rock tunes and performing is their passion. They also enjoy the abundant musicians in the Connecticut Music scene and play many different venues including the Aging Rock Stars, fundraisers, Vet fest' deVille, Wounded Warriors & aid where ever the music can benefit as well as be enjoyed.
