Biography Leaders and Kings
Casey Self is a multi-talented performer. He began playing upright bass  while he was in  the middle school orchestra. He continued playing the  stand up bass in the high school orchestra as well as studying the electric  bass and acoustic guitar. After his senior year, Casey performed as a  bass player and singer for multiple rock bands in his home town in North  Carolina. In 2012 Casey moved to Nashville, TN for more opportunities  to play downtown clubs and make a living. In one of the Broadway clubs downtown during a show he  met Johnny, Weiss, and Nick. He later became their front man for Masses Beware.  During the summer  of 2014 they began performing at exclusive events such as the Hollywood Meets Nashville Film  Festival, and the famous Vans Warped Tour. Casey is a songwriter and producer along with Weiss,  Johnny and Nick. Casey traveled with the band to Cleveland, Ohio to begin recording their EP at  Standby Records Studio D in January 2015. In May 2015 they finished recording, and in August of the  same year “Masses Beware” at this point, signed to a 3 album deal with Standby Records and changed  their band name to “Leaders And Kings”.  Nick Monroe is the key ingredient for this band. Nick is a gifted multi-   instrumentalist. Not only is he a talented lead guitarist for Leaders and  Kings, but he is also a skilled keyboard and bass player. Nick’s  comprehensive knowledge of  musical instruments offers so much variety  to his music style such as jazz, rock, and a huge influence of the 80's hard  rock era. He is one of the main songwriters for Leaders And Kings, as well as creating guitar licks,  bass runs, keyboard parts, and additional sounds for their songs. In addition to being a songwriter, he  also assisted in engineering and producing the recordings. Nick is also an experienced gaffer, editor,  lighting assistant, and music supervisor.  Johnny Reeves is an extensive bass player that comes from a mixture of country  bass runs and some heavy rock roots, adding a lot of variety to the sound of  Leaders And Kings. The bass is a very distinguishable sound with a lot of punch  that fills right in with the drums creating a musical masterpiece. Johnny has  played bass guitar since early middle school, and performed mostly in the hard  rock music scene. Johnny played in many rock bands during middle school and  high school as well as his own band ,Capital Punishment, which was a Punk/Post  Punk band. Johnny has toured different states with many of these same genre  bands. Within a few years, he co-founded the band “Masses Beware” with his brothers Weiss and  Nick, which later became “Leaders and Kings”. Johnny vowed to make a sincere commitment to  making this band extraordinary.  Three years after the addition of  lead vocalist, Casey Self , they  traveled to Ohio for the final signing of “Leaders And Kings” with Standby Records. Johnny is a  songwriter, producer, and engineer for the band. Johnny also has experience in martial arts, film work,  camera operator, editing, gaffing, and lighting.  Weiss is a hard rock drummer with an assortment of  influences from R&B,  Metal, and Punk drumming styles. Weiss started playing drums in middle  school, where he mainly played snare drum. Later he participated in the drum  line as the bass drum player for South West Guilford High School for 3 years.   Weiss started out playing with many punk and post punk bands in high school  such as Capital Punishment, and Heroes of Yesteryear. He played with those  acts for a couple years and toured through many states with them before he co-   founded Masses Beware, currently known as, Leaders and Kings. Weiss has trained with session  player, Jake Burton, in Nashville and also was ranked in the World’s Fastest Drummer contest at  NAMM. Weiss is experienced in martial arts, film work, camera operator, gaffing, editing, and  lighting.
