Biography: Matt Lande
His vocals have been described as pure with a rock edge. His music spans the gamut of the alternative genre with a listening base that ranges from Snow Patrol lovers to 30 Seconds To Mars Echelon but it wasn't always this way. Matt grew up in a small Florida town, the kind of town where dreams seem to be just a bit further out of reach and where many people simply see a dream as something unrealistic. After taking a guitar class in his senior year of high school he pushed any negativity aside and starting honing his guitar, writing and vocal skills in a local band before quickly deciding that he wanted to see more of the world and really pursue what his heart was telling him. It wasn't long before Lande started moving to different places around the country while working with and learning from amazing musicians and producers along the way. In 2005 Matt found a more secure place as guitarist and co-writer for the band StorySide:B. The band was signed to Gotee Records/EMI and the William Morris Agency. SSB toured extensively in support of the album "Everything and More". Matt co-wrote the title track which was released as a single and climbed to the top of the charts. Lande spent 3 years with the band and then decided to move to Los Angeles where he signed a new deal for his own music as the lead vocalist, guitarist, writer and co-producer for the band Heaven Is Where. The following 5 years in Los Angeles were spent releasing 2 full length albums (Stories From Yesterday & Welcome Home The Child), a side project (DarkStar the EP) and performing with both his band and acoustically as a duo or solo to fulfill his record deal. In 2013 Matt relocated to Portland OR where he currently resides. This marked a fresh start for his indie music career as well as gigs working in film and television as a Double and Stand-In for actors such as Noah Wyle, Travis Fimmel, Steve Buscemi, Alexis Denisof and more. The end of 2015 brought the release of his critically acclaimed album (GLOW). The following year was spent working on a mixture of music and tv. During this time Lande performed in England and released an Electropop song (Lose Our Minds) for a side project. The end of 2016 and the beginning of 2017 has found Lande crafting a new album titled (Boxes) and it marks a first in his musical career. Over the years he has worked with many talented musicians and producers. Taking the knowledge he has gained, Boxes is the first time Matt has fully engineered, produced and mixed his own full production LP. He also played and programmed all of the instruments other than the drums which are played by a fantastic up-and-coming drummer out of Seattle. Boxes is set to be Mastered at the iconic Abbey Road Studios in London, very soon and you can expect the worldwide release in the early summer of 2017.
